And then, while he was frozen waiting to hear if he was in trouble, he toots. And starts laughing while saying, “My’s so funny. My’s burped in my bottom!”. Best. Line. Ever.

He got his own piece of cake for his two-year old AWESOMENESS. Man, Ollie is awesome.

Well, they all got cake for lunch. Truth be told it was coconut flour cake, packed with eggs and sweetened with raw honey. Very little raw honey. Then the frosting was yummy butter, raw cacao powder and a little more honey. All in all, a treat for them and not a bad lunch from mom’s perspective. Every once in a while.

They’ve been with us for Christmas and New Year’s this year.  Brittany is on the left.  She lives in Philly and is finishing up her master’s in counseling at Westminster Seminary.  Rocked it.  Michael is a land man, based out of Texas, but currently working on projects in Virginia.  Somewhere in cold Virginia.  I gave him a vest for Christmas.  Just keeping it practical.

The boys have LOVED their Auntie B and Uncle Michael time.  We are sad to see yall go!  I’m bracing for detox this week.  There is no way I can recreate the kind of energy and fun these sibs bring my boys.  Love you Mike and Britt!

This is the sweetest time of life to walk with friends–experiencing the joy of meeting our children.  These last couple weeks with Sarah have been especially sweet to walk.  I’ve prayed and cried with my friend as she anticipated holding her son.  And then to rejoice as he arrived, it just doesn’t get better.  God’s goodness, almost tangible as new life enters.

It’s such a beautiful story of how Truett came that night.  It was a joy to be by her side as she labored.  And she’ll have to share all the details, it’s her story.

But one.  I have to share one…

Turns out my dear friend gets uber goofy, funny and borderline dorky during pain–looking around the room and starting sentences with “I do declare” this pain is bad.  Or “I do declare” I need some ice.

She rocked labor.

And she rocked labor phrases.  Many of which she’ll be reminded of…THE REST OF HER LIFE.

Love you P, so thankful to live life with you!  And oh sweet Truett, you are a gift!

We have scurried to bed, ready for a birthday party tomorrow!  The manger will be full tomorrow!

Can’t handle the cuteness.  Can’t handle him growing up.  I LOVE AGE 2.

Here’s to you, my friend, leaning into and through this time when your arms are just aching.  He’ll be here so soon!  Praise God for growing a strong little man!

Labor never got going last Saturday.  Yes, there was amniotic fluid, but then nothing.  Did it re-seal?  Are there 2 bags?  Who knows.  But, with fluid levels confirmed great twice this week, she’s walking around still waiting for her labor day.

Exciting!  Praying!  Cheering you on friend…while only Jesus knows his first breath, how sweet these last days of  holding him so closely…
